Mosquitos – new challenge for European public health?

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) recently reported on the rapid spread of the Aedes mosquito species in Europe, as a consequence of climate change. Indeed, heat waves and floodings which get more and more frequent and severe or constantly longer and warmer summers create more favourable conditions for invasive mosquito species to proliferate.
